The Role

They are looking for a creative Communications Manager with a drive to join the team and take on our public relations strategy. This person will also develop and produce captivating and informative copy for marketing efforts, including website and email campaigns. Reporting directly to the Head of Marketing & Community and working collaboratively with the creative, sales, content, and operations teams, the communications manager will play an integral role in helping shape the company's evolving brand profile.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement communications and media outreach strategies for two annual events, digital content, charitable programs, and overall brand initiatives.
• Identify and cultivate key media relationships by sourcing a database of relevant journalists, editors, bloggers, influencers, and both traditional and new media outlets.
• Facilitate consistent outreach to prospective media partners with specifically crafted pitches that focus on each segment's unique value proposition.
• Coordinate with the Content team to identify qualified panellists and/or moderators.
• Manage the entire lifecycle of event-specific owned and sponsored podcast production schedules.
• Track performance metrics and audit reports that demonstrate growth in media relationships and published media mentions.
• Audit and select PR tech stack that can help accelerate goals.
• Write engaging, entertaining, and informative audience-specific copy in accordance with email campaign schedule for two annual events and overall company communications.
• Develop website and blog copy including key strategic messaging and narratives, while sustaining a cohesive tone of voice.
• Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams and external partners to create marketing materials and collateral.
• Work closely with the Creative team to develop high-frequency marketing collateral and visual assets, such as email banners and infographics.
• Draft public speeches for senior leadership that are well-researched, fact-based, and deliver palpable energy that will captivate an audience.
• Contribute to the development of campaign strategies across multiple channels including email, social media, paid, PR, and events.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• A minimum of five (5+) years of experience in a communications, public relations, agency, content, or marketing role. Events industry experience is a plus.
• Comfortable developing detailed project plans and speaking with executive-level stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience creating whimsical copy while delivering message continuity through end-to-end storytelling. [A writing sample will be requested as part of the interview process].
• Brings bold, new fresh ideas that push creativity.
• Open to constructive feedback and can iterate quickly.
• Experience working closely with cross-functional teams and balancing parallel deadlines.
• Experience with email service provider (ESP) software.
• Experienced in team building and creating opportunities for collaboration.
• Excellent personal communications skills, verbal and written required.
• Comfortable presenting publicly and speaking in front of senior professionals.
• Ability to think long-term while remaining nimble and responsive.
