Human Resources Manager

Media and Events Specialist

$100k-$120k Base Salary + Bonus

New York, NY (Hybrid - 3 days per week in-office)

This is an amazing opportunity to join a well-established and award-winning media and events company. The company has seen rapid growth over the last few years and the focus now is on expanding the US business, with impressive growth plans for the next three years. Our client is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager for their New York office, which currently has around 60 employees but is expected this to grow this year. The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for implementing the HR Strategy for the US office, ensuring HR best practice is in place.

The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for:

  • Working closely with the President of North America and the Human Resources Director to implement the HR strategy for the US, ensuring HR best practice is in place.
  • Working within the wider HR team and playing an active role in group projects
  • Keeping the Global Human Resources Director in the UK up to date on people matters for the US, escalating any issues as appropriate.
  • Handling the full employee cycle from the onboarding process for new hires including new hire paperwork, company induction, probation, and leavers.
  • Working with the business to ensure performance reviews are conducted and held in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the bimonthly payroll process and working with our PEO partner to ensure benefits admin is maintained and up to date. Handling any payroll or benefits questions from employees.
  • Working closely with the Global Human Resources Director to ensure a proactive approach to Diversity and Inclusion, ensuring the US has a strategy that is culturally sensitive and appropriate.
  • Supporting managers with recruitment, effectively using the ATS tool to advertise jobs directly, and working with recruitment partners.
  • Keeping abreast of employer legal updates in each relevant state and ensuring any paperwork /policies are updated appropriately (e.g., employment contracts, policies, handbooks).

About you:

  • SHRM qualified
  • Significant experience working at the HR Manager level.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience within an SME advantageous
  • Strong US employment law and best practice knowledge
  • Experience in using HR systems and comfortable analyzing HR data / producing reports
  • Able to manage multiple projects and priorities being driven by various managers and departments to ensure deadlines are achieved.
