Hawthorne, NY Hybrid Role $65000 - 90,000 Base Salary Responsibilities: - Execution of the forecast process, which encompasses base item forecasting, promotional & event forecasting, along with weekly/monthly performance analysis and insight.
- Designing inventory strategies to support the balance of both new and core, carryover merchandise by hitting various KPI's for in-stock and inventory turn objectives which are required to achieve target levels
- Develop forecasted demand plans and execute assortment and promotional effectiveness analysis, with a focus on Legacy brands
- Develop methodology to monitor significant variances between sales forecasts, budgets and business plans and report findings to upper management
- Lead root-cause analysis on major variances which defines & implements initiatives that may span across various departments to improve forecast accuracy
- Propose appropriate plan changes and partner with Sales, Marketing and Finance teams, as applicable, to seek consensus and approval to achieve company's best stock position
- Create forward-looking supply shortage predictors, w/ potential mitigation strategies
- Identify opportunities and related risks; assess the situation and propose forward action
- Serve as an active and high-performing member of the team, managing and developing any direct report(s) through mentoring in an effective and results-oriented environment
- Think outside of the box, identifying & creating opportunities for improvement
- Compile and present data, including POS detail throughout the program lifecycle to determine overall status and assist in memorializing learnings for future application
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree required; business major preferred
- Prior Demand Planning and Forecasting experience required (5-10 years)
- Prior experience working with key national accounts and/or big box retailers
- Extensive knowledge of Excel (Pivot tables, V-lookups, etc..) is required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to deliver projects in full, on time, and to the highest quality
- Solid business acumen and effective communication skills to interface across all levels of the organization
- Prior experience collaborating with Sales, Marketing and/or Finance functions is a plus
- Sage and/or MAS500 experience is a plus
