Position: Senior HR Generalist

Company: Media Specialist

Location: New York City (Hybrid)

Salary: $100k - $110k Base

Aspire is partnering with one of the leading sources of news and analysis on international business and world affairs. Having been around for over a century and headquartered in the UK, this well-known media company has content in digital, print, and events.

We are seeking a Senior HR Generalist to join the Americas HR team. In this role, you will provide support to all functional areas of the US-based human resources department including but not limited to benefits administration, recruitment, payroll and reporting, maintenance of HRIS systems, and project work. The HR Generalist will represent the department to the workforce, management, and external vendors.

The responsibilities for this role include:

  • Administer employee health, welfare and defined contribution plans for the US
  • Manage open enrollment processes to include the distribution of materials from carriers, communicating changes to employees, arranging for on-site representation by providers, and conducting employee presentations
  • Manage the visa sponsorship process and lead global mobility for the U.S.
  • Manage the employment life-cycle including ensuring that the on-boarding and exit process and administration across all platforms are completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Conduct new employee orientation for all new employees including executives
  • Process HRIS data and ensure accurate entry in ADP and on PeopleHub
  • Project manager and owner of the Americas HR monthly activities
  • Prepare reports and provide insights on employee data
  • Manage all payroll cycle changes and consistent updates within the HRIS systems
  • Contribute to and assist with local and global HR projects, including the annual salary and appraisal process
  • Manage non-payroll worker process through effective communication with the hiring manager; coordinate with third-party vendors as well as HRIS processes

The ideal skills for this role include:

  • Human resource work experience providing administrative support to staff at all levels of the company
  • Knowledge of HR compliance and concepts, practices and procedures
  • Prior experience with HRIS maintenance or system implementation a plus
  • Superior computer skills - Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are a must
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills and presentation abilities with the ability to effectively communicate with individuals both internal and external to the organization
