Position: Director of New Business

Company: Global Tradeshow Organizer

Compensation: Up to $150k Base ($225k OTE)

Location: NYC (Hybrid - 3 days per week in-office)

Our client is looking for an experienced Sales Leader to head their New Business team in New York. In this role, you will play a key part in driving annual revenue goals while leading a team focused on expanding the company's network of sponsors and exhibitors. Your leadership will be essential to the success of their flagship event, where industry leaders from across the financial services and technology sectors gather network to grow their businesses. This role requires a leader who can focus equally on building a strong team culture and driving new business sales performance. Your primary responsibility will be guiding, mentoring, and supporting the team to achieve success.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor the new business team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous growth.
  • Develop and execute strategies to help the team meet and exceed revenue goals by securing new sponsors and exhibitors.
  • Contribute to the sales strategy and ensure effective implementation across the team.
  • Leverage Salesforce to track and report on sales activity and team performance.
  • Demonstrate best practices in sales by engaging directly with potential customers.
  • Cultivate strong cross-functional relationships, ensuring alignment and collaboration with teams in marketing, customer experience, operations, finance, and leadership.
  • Partner with international sales teams in the EU, AS, and US to expand global business opportunities.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, competitor actions, and market changes to maintain leadership-level expertise.

Qualifications:

  • Proven success in sales leadership, ideally within the conference and event sponsorship industry.
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets and closing large, high-value deals.
  • Strong leadership and coaching abilities with experience managing and developing sales teams.
  • Advanced analytical skills, including proficiency in using Salesforce data to drive strategic decisions.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, able to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapting to shifting market dynamics.
  • Must be available to work from the NYC office at least 3 days per week.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events, including some domestic and limited international travel.
