This is an opportunity to work with a leading company in the life-sciences conference space. They are looking for a VP of Marketing to join their NYC-based team to lead all direct, digital, and creative marketing initiatives for their in-person and virtual events throughout the US.

The VP of Marketing will be responsible for:

• Planning, managing and executing marketing plans
• Developing creative briefs for all paid media placements, lead the creative development process (working hand and hand with in-house creative team)
• Responsibility for all paid marketing efforts, including budgeting, vendor management, media buying, reporting, and all testing and optimization efforts
• Experimenting with a variety of organic and paid acquisition channels including content creation, PPC campaigns, partnerships, PR, social media, lead generation campaigns, email marketing, etc.
• Support the sales and operations team with communications that drive new prospects and deliver strong engagement, satisfaction, and retention
• Develop marketing tests and analytics/measurement plans
• Build KPIs/success metrics and manage results to inform recommendations and decision making
• Work collaboratively with vendors and internal partners to ensure successful execution of all marketing campaigns and tactics
• Write copy for marketing efforts
• Assist in the development of content marketing strategies and own development and management of a content calendar
• Continuously evaluate efforts to understand campaign and program effectiveness and opportunities to adjust strategies moving forward

The VP of Marketing will have the following skills and experience:

• 7+ years of marketing experience, ideally in events
• Expertise in a wide variety of marketing channels and systems
• Strong execution skills
• Be extremely well-organized and detail-oriented
• Strong copy writing capabilities
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Be smart and a quick learner who is comfortable in a fast-paced, high growth, entrepreneurial environment
• Strong problem-solving and project management skills
• An analytical mindset and always think about how data can help drive decision-making
• The ability to manage time and resources optimally
