Position: Operations Manager - Events

Company: Conference and Tradeshow Organizer

Compensation: $100k - $105k Base Salary + Bonus

Location: New York City (Hybrid)

Aspire is partnering with a global trade association who supports the retail real estate industry through large scale tradeshows and regional conferences. Fostering collaboration and innovation among professionals worldwide, the organization also provides resources on industry trends and best practices. This position will support the team with everything operations and logistics related for their portfolio of events.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the execution of virtual and in-person conferences and events ranging from 50 - 10,000 attendees
  • Engage with advisory committees to shape content and format of conferences and events
  • Source and cultivate relationships and negotiate with vendors and suppliers
  • Manage budget process and forecasting; monitor adherence to event budgets
  • Collaborate with content and marketing teams to guide all physical and digital promotional materials and campaigns
  • Collect, submit and interpret key data for post-event reporting
  • Use data to guide marketing and financial planning for future events
  • Coordinate regularly with internal and external stakeholders in support of successful deal making conferences and trade shows
  • Connect with Volunteer Leadership to drive volunteer engagement in organization initiatives and guaranteeing adherence to event policies and procedures
  • Supervise, train and mentor (1) Events Associate

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience managing high-quality events (operations and logistics)
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience managing individuals
  • Previous experience in trade associations or non-profits is a plus
  • Experience in managing budgets and driving through changes to improve efficiency
  • Experience in working with volunteers and committees
  • Ability to build relationships with hospitality, events and meetings industry leaders
  • Travel up to 25%
